We are hosting a 3-hour FREC course covering what every Real Estate Agent should know about closings.

  • Understanding the new loan estimate and closing disclosure forms
  • How the closing agent prepares for closing in accordance with the contract provisions, title commitment requirements and lender’s closing instructions
  • Preparing the sellers and buyers for the day of closing, including: proper identification, funds to close, who must attend the closing and the lender-required documents that must be brought to closing
  • A review of the documents required to be signed by the sellers and buyers at the time of closing such as deeds, notes, mortgages and affidavits
  • The Foreign Investment in Real Property Act (FIRPTA) and how it may apply to real estate transactions
  • Why a buyer should obtain an Owner’s Policy of Title Insurance and an overview of the coverage provided
  • Common title and closing issues that may delay or prevent a transaction from closing
